October 2011

We are now in and living at Billies Place. Nunyara Retreat is now let and we are busy sorting things out at Billies. We have taken on a companion horse for Bobby, Asterix, who Tina is hoping to ride. In the meantime, Nick is taking his first few steps towards Olympic glory...

The studio at Billie's has been renovated single handedly by Tina and is looking great. The carpet is soon to go in and then the furnishings. Once that is done, we intend to move in permanently and let out Nunyara Retreat for either short or long term lets.

March 9th

Billie's Place is now open and ready to be used. There is more work to be done on the overall property but the house and pool is looking fantastic!

January 13th

Whilst Nunyara is well away from all the flooding, we are moved and deeply disturbed by the disastrous flooding in Queensland. We have offered free use of our facilities to anyone affected by the flooding in Brisbane or Ipswich. Please donate to the Queensland Flood Relief Fund. Our hearts and thoughts go out to those who have lost loved ones, homes and/or possessions.

January 10th

Completed the purchase of Nunyara Hideaway. It will be called "Billie's Place" in memory of Tina's sister who tragically died on December 21st.

December 1st

We were successful at auction and are now buying Nunyara 2. A similar concept to Nunyara Retreat but has a beautiful garden with pool, stream, forest and is very very peaceful. The cottage itself is small and quaint. Ideal for a romantic getaway!

November 1st

Nunyara welcomes 2 new Red Neck Wallaby Joeys. Lucky and Lucy.

September 3rd

A week of meetings with Councillors and Council to start the process of applying for Log Cabins at Nunyara. Our concept can be viewed here. Unfortunately, there is going to be a very high cost in applying for permission so the concept has been put on the back burner for now.

August 22nd

Welcome to Manny. A juvenile Redneck Wallaby who was raised from a Pinky by a dedicated carer. She has brought Manny to us so that he can become integrated with other wallabies and we can then "soft release" him onto our property.

July 12th

And another! We have just taken on Suzie, a young Swamp Wallaby. Very curious and inquisitive. A picture of the 3 amigo's below.

July 5th

We now have two new young Joeys under care. They are both Rednecks. We have named them Lily and Angus. Both are doing very well but live indoors. Lily is still in her pouch all of the time. Both are recently orphaned.

June 2nd

Nunyara now has a Fan page on Facebook! Just search for Nunyara Retreat on Facebook and become a Fan!

May 31st

Winnie and Joe are now soft released on to the property. They both seem very happy and it is very rewarding to see them exploring their new home. Of course, they still come back from time to time for some fuss and the odd bottle or biccies!

March 10th

New Pre Release pen created and our first inhabiants are Winnie and Joe who love the space. The Wallabies seem very happy. Plans to build new Koala and Possum pre release pens.
