We are midway between Brisbane and The Gold Coast in Southeast Queensland.
The nearest airports are Brisbane International (40KM to the North) and Gold Coast International (40 KM to the South). The major East coast motorway- The M1- links both airports and we are located just 7KM west from this motorway.
Brisbane Airport also has an excellent, regular express "Airtrain" service running during the day from both Domestic and International terminals to the Gold Coast. All trains go via Central Station in Brisbane and Beenleigh. Beenleigh is the closest station to us and is only 7KM from Nunyara. The usual taxi fare from Beenleigh train station to Nunyara is $15.
Coming by road is easy. We are 6KM south of Beenleigh on the Beenlegh-Beaudesert Road. Wolffdene is a small hamlet but is signposted. Colwill Crescent is a cul-de-sac which goes straight up a hill. We are 700m on the left as you climb the hill.
Please drive carefully as our resident family of Red Necked Wallabies often cross the road just below our house!
There are a number of Doctors and Dentists at Beenleigh.
The closest ATM's are in Windaroo, 4KM north of Nunyara. There is one inside the Windaroo Tavern, one inside the Petrol station and one in the shopping complex next to the Post Office.
Beenleigh has a full range of major banks and ATM's.
The nearest pharmacy is in the shopping mall at Windaroo, 4KM north of Nunyara. There are a number of pharmacies in Beenleigh.
There is an IGA in Windaroo, approx 3KM north of Nunyara. It is open 7 days a week and until 8pm most evenings. On the same mall, there is a chemist, liquor store and post office.
In Beenleigh, 7 KM north of Nunyara, there is a greater variety of larger stores including Woolworths, Coles and Aldi.
There is a 7-11 petrol station with a small shop approx 4KM north of Nunyara near Windaroo. To the south, there is a small Petrol station at Tamborine approx 15KM south of Nunyara. There are several petrol stations in Beenleigh.
The nearest bus stop is at Windaroo (4KM north of Nunyara). There is a bus there that goes into Brisbane via Logan Hyperdome.
Beenleigh is a mainline train station and a stop for ALL trains going to and from Brisbane City, The Airport and the Gold Coast. Fares are very reasonable ($5 one way to Brisbane) and it only takes 40 mins on the Airport train. There is a regular local stopping service that takes over an hour to get to Brisbane. Unless you want to see every single suburb in Brisbane, make sure you get the twice hourly Airport train!
If coming to Nunyara from Brisbane Domestic or International terminals, catch the Gold Coast train which takes you right to Beenleigh. Note that this train (for some reason) does not run after 8pm.
The Bus and Train station in Beenleigh also has a taxi rank. The usual fare from Beenleigh to Nunyara is $16.
The nearest multiplex is at The Hyperdome in Loganholme, just off the M1 about 11KM north of Nunyara. It has 12 screens and a Gold Class area.
There is a Drive In movie cinema at Yatala, about 8KM from Nunyara.
Tina will be delighted to point out where all the bargains are! However, the local mall is The Hyperdome at Loganholme, about 11KM north of Nunyara. There is also the major shops in Beenleigh including Coles, Woolworths, Big W and many others.
